Blaze at city tenement tackled

Several people are trapped in a fire in a tenement in Edinburgh.

The emergency services were called to the blaze at 16:39 in a stairwell in Lothian Road near the Hanging Bat pub, opposite the Odeon cinema.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said "multiple persons" were trapped.
