A man has been charged with the murder of his ex-girlfriend in Greater Manchester.
Linzi Ashton, 25, was found dead at her home on Westbourne Road in Winton, Salford on 29 June.
A post-mortem examination found the mother-of-two had multiple injuries and died after pressure to her neck.
Michael Cope, 28, was charged after being arrested at an address on Larch Road in Leigh on Friday.
He is due to appear before Manchester Magistrates Court on Monday.
Mr Cope's charges came as a fun run took place in memory of Ms Ashton and to raise money for her children.
The 5 mile (8km) event saw dozens of parents and children run from the street where the 25-year-old lived into the centre of Manchester.
