A British man has been killed in Syria along with an American woman and another man, a human rights group says.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights says the dead man had a UK passport stating he was from London but could not verify its authenticity.
A spokesman for the SOHR said it suspected the man might have been working with Syrian rebels, but that this could not be confirmed.
The Foreign Office said it was looking into reports of the man's death.
The man's body, which was found in Idlib province, was now with the Syrian regime, the SOHR spokesman added.
A Foreign Office spokeswoman said: "We are aware of the claims. We have no verification, but are seeking information.
"The UK has warned for some time against all travel to Syria."
All British diplomats have been withdrawn from Syria amid the escalating bloodshed between the government forces and rebels.
