Mexican businesses discuss opportunities in Vietnam VNTimes

Hundreds of Mexican businesses flocked to a seminar on business andinvestment opportunities in Vietnam , which was held by the VietnameseEmbassy in Mexico and Mexico City Chamber of Commerce, Services, andTourism (Canaco).

Opening the event, CanacoPresident Ricardo Navarro Benitez hailed Vietnam ’s high economicgrowth rate, saying that the Southeast Asian country offers a chance forMexico to diversify trade relations, and seek new markets forMexican products in the context of current global economic crisisimpacting on the country’s economy.




VietnameseAmbassador to Mexico Le Thanh Tung said two-way trade between Vietnamand Mexico , which hit 1.2 billion USD in 2012, is still modestcompared to Vietnam ’s total foreign trade turnover of 230 billionUSD.




He affirmed that Vietnam will create themost favourable conditions including legal framework for the two sides’enterprises to cooperate for the sake of mutual interest.




Mexican business representatives inquired about Vietnam ’s exportitems, customs procedures, demands for Mexican products such as Tequilaand foods.-VNA
