Uncle Ho’s sentiment towards Russia highlighted VNTimes

An exhibition and seminar themed “President Ho Chi Minh and Russia ”was held in Hanoi on June 4 to mark 90 years since Vietnam ’s lategreat lead er first arrived in Russia and was introduced toMarxism-Leninism.

Over 80 reports at the seminarfocused on President Ho Chi Minh’s relations with Russia , and theties between the two countries.




Researchers and scientists underscored the deep relationship between President Ho Chi Minh and Russia .




Dr. Pham Xuan My, former head of the Party History Faculty, Academy ofJournalism and Communications, said the event is a chance to once againreview all documentation on the move of President Ho Chi Minh, thenknown as Nguyen Ai Quoc, towards Marxism-Leninism as well as Russia,and his determination to bring back the ideology to establish theCommunist Party of Vietnam.




This is also anopportunity to review the solidarity between the former Soviet Union,now Russia , and Vietnam over the past years, which has helped thetwo countries build their current strategic partnership, he said.




According to Dr. Evgeny Kobelev, First Deputy President of theRussia-Vietnam Friendship Association, talking about President Ho ChiMinh brings to mind a great leader - great and modest. That’s why inVietnam , people call him Uncle, and Russian people also call him by aword with the same meaning, he added.




Variousphotos and souvenirs of President Ho Chi Minh from his stay in Russiawere also on display, giving visitors a deeper understanding on UncleHo’s thoughts, as well as sound sentiment towards Marxism-Leninism andthe nation and people of Russia.-VNA
