Austrian police say they have found the body of a man suspected of shooting dead three policemen and a paramedic.
Special forces had been searching the farmhouse where he lived near Melk, Lower Austria, after surrounding it for several hours.
The man, who has not been named, was said to be heavily armed.
The drama began when officers tried to arrest the man on suspicion of poaching.
