Floyd Mayweather secured the WBC and WBA light middleweight titles in Las Vegas with a commanding display and majority points win over Saul Alvarez.

Mayweather, 36, demonstrated all his defensive mastery in shutting out his 23-year-old opponent over 12 rounds.

The heavier Mexican showed periods of attacking intent but the more experienced champion emerged with barely a scratch.

Mayweather's professional record now reads 45 wins and not a single defeat.
