Firefighters in England and Wales are to strike for five hours on 19 October amid a row over pensions, the Fire Brigades Union (FBU) has said.
The second strike by the firefighters will take place from 18:30 until 23:30.
FBU general secretary Matt Wrack said he had hoped the first strike would show the government how serious firefighters were about ensuring fair pensions.
He added that he could not rule out further strikes.
The FBU said firefighters in Scotland would not strike after they voted in a consultation that Scottish government proposals were sufficient to prevent a strike.
