An explosion that killed at least six people on a bus in the southern Russian city of Volgograd was caused by a bomb, Russia's National Anti-Terrorism Committee has said in a statement.
The blast, which happened just after 14:00 local time (10:00 GMT), injured another 18 people.
Cities further south, in Russia's North Caucasus, have seen attacks by Islamist militants in recent years.
There may be fears of a link with the Volgograd blast, correspondents say.
