Lao media praises Vietnam Rubber Group VNTimes

Lao media on June 3 ran articles praising the investment and supportthat Vietnam Rubber Group (VRG) has provided Laos to help it reducepoverty and develop its socio-economy.

Lao Nationnewspaper, owned by Laos News Agency (KPL) and Lao Phatthananewspaper of the Lao Journalists Association listed several VRGcompanies that have effectively invested in the country.

Among them, the Viet-Laos Rubber Joint Stock Company has inaugurated aprocessing plant with an annual capacity of 24,000 tonnes.

The VRG has eight operational projects in Laos, with totalinvestment in excess of 280 million USD, the articles noted.

They also underlined that the group’s investment has helped changecultivation and nomadic habits of Lao people and created jobs for tenthousand labourers.

The group also supports thecountry develop its infrastructure and promote its socio-economicdevelopment, contributing to strengthening the special relations betweenthe two countries, the newspapers affirmed.-VNA
